As the parent of an autistic young adult, I try my best to help him navigate the world. He has such unique perspectives on things that really cause me to think. My life is so much better having him in it. It’s important to us to help our world increase awareness and acceptance for neurodiversity. He is worth working to change the world for. On a more mundane note, we like to go to the pool, solve mysteries, and play Dungeons and Dragons together!
My silly husband and I love getting out into nature, although we don’t get the chance to go nearly as often as we’d like! We just bought our first house together, and it sits right on the edge of a National Park, so we are thrilled to have numerous walking paths right outside our door. When we get a chance we also like to go up to Hanging Rock State Park which is just a short 40 minute drive away. It’s even better when we are able to camp for a night or two!
In my free time, I love to make things. Whether it’s crocheting a tablecloth or making a tee shirt or hand printing a greeting card, it brings me great joy to see the products of my labor. Plus I really like making things look pretty!
